Buzz Lightyear - Part 2

Here Cam is acting out the scene from the movie.  He uses the envelope as a shield to deflect the balls Zurg is shooting at him.  He then throws the envelope and says, "I am going to bonk his melon".  Camden speak for - I am going to hit him on the head....LOL

Buzz Lightyear - Part 1

Camden is obsessed with Buzz Lightyear from Toy Story.  He asks to watch the beginning sequence of the second movie over and over again.  He runs around the house yelling, "To infinity and beyond", with his arms splayed out behind him.

Here is a video I took of him playing dead after being shot by Zurg.

Thanksgiving 2013

We had an eventful Thanksgiving long weekend.  On Saturday the 12th I attempted to take Camden to see a movie.  As the lights dimmed I am sure the entire theatre could hear Camden crying to go home.  I didn't even want to see the stares from the people sitting to my left, so we just packed up and left.  Maybe we'll try again next year?

On Sunday Ron made tacos for Thanksgiving dinner.  Not the usual turkey fare, but it is what was requested by Cam.  All thanks to this book - Dragons Love Tacos.  Dragons may love tacos, but Cam didn't :(  I don't know if the shell was too hard to bite, or the meat was on the spicy side. He ended up eating oatmeal instead.

Monday was beautiful for outside Autumn pictures and like the previous two years we "borrowed" our neighbours tree.

This is Cam in the same tree when he was just a tiny babe.
Ron was behind him, holding him up.

Here are some more of my favourite pictures from the day.  So hard to choose just one or two to share.

Finally, here is our silly boy trying on Daddy's shades....

Unexpected Day Off

Ron had a migraine yesterday and called me at work to see if I could come home and spend the day with Camden while he rested.  Thankfully I have an understanding boss and I was able to leave early.

Camden and I took a drive to a beach near Cape Enrage.  We passed a shoe tree....

and had a nap on the way.

I have been to Cape Enrage a few times now and this is truly the first time I have seen it "enraged".  The wind was gusting so strong Camden could barely stand on his own.  While windy and cool, we had a fun time.  We picked up some nice rocks and pine cones to make some crafty stuff.

Exploring

Windy....

Giddy Up!

We attempted to run from the waves that were crashing on shore, but both of us ended up wet.  Thankfully I brought a change of clothes for Camden so he didn't freeze once we were done playing.

Later that night we took some of the rocks we collected and painted them orange.  I am hoping to make Jack O Lanterns out of them.  I stepped out of the room to get something and came back to see Camden painting his arms.

Of course I grabbed the camera and when I started clicking, he reached up and touched his hair!  Ugh!  Well, he is washable, no harm done!

It was an unexpected day off and I think it was well spent.

Jelly Time

We have some really nice grape vines in the backyard that were lovingly tended to by Ron and Camden all summer.  An amazing amount (36 cups) of grapes were harvested this year and turned into juice.  I made two batches of jelly but have enough juice to make three more batches!

Camden helped me pick the grapes and carry the bucket to the house.  Wish I could blame the mess I made in the kitchen on him, but it was all me.  Making jelly is a serious business and causes some big mess!

I guess the weather has been just right and we had all sorts of mushrooms growing in the yard too.  I have no idea what type these are, but Cam enjoyed them....until he destroyed them all.  Boys!

Moncton Touch a Truck

On Saturday I took Camden to the Moncton Touch a Truck event held at the Coliseum.  What an amazing and fun experience.  He had a blast sitting behind the wheel of all the big working trucks!

It was a gorgeous day, more like Summer than Autumn.  There were people everywhere and lots of kids being told to be patient and wait their turn.  I really hope the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation was able to raise the funds they were hoping for.

On to the pictures....

Cement mixer - he was so excited to see this one.  We have been reading about them in this book

Funny story behind this picture.  The man who owned this digger gave Cam the hard hat to wear.  He thought it was his for keeps.  There were candies in the bucket of the digger and I told Cam he could have one.  He took the candy and the hard hat to the owner of the digger and gave him the candy, while  holding onto the hat!  It was so funny.  The owner ended up giving Camden a new ball cap (next picture) to make up for it.

Any ideas who this might be?  A spark plug maybe?

All I heard when he climbed up here was "Ooooohhh"

Baa Baa Black Sheep

Saying a nursery rhyme for Grammie in August...late post.
