Christmas 2012

Merry Christmas from our little family to yours.  We lost our tree and couldn't find it until Christmas Eve.  I thought it was in the shed, Ron thought it was in the closet.  After hunting around for a few days we found it underneath the spare room bed.

I put it up on Christmas Eve after Camden went to sleep.  Poor little Charlie Brown tree....

On Christmas morning I told Camden I had a surprise downstairs for him, then I ran down and plugged in the lights.  When I carried him down the steps he kept saying, "Ooooh, lights.".  He was enthralled with the decorations and spent some time looking at and touching them.

After breakfast Camden seemed interested in opening up his presents.  I think next year there will be no waiting!

This gift is from Auntie Cathy - 200 foam blocks, which he promptly dumped out upon opening!

This was from Grammie, another 100 blocks, which he also dumped out.  Ever see 300 blocks on the floor?

Ripping into puzzles from Grammie - they ended up all over the floor too.

This was a package from our good friend Donna.  Camden thought the tissue paper was for blowing his nose, so he went ahead and blew!

Thank you for the cozy blanket Donna.

Niblet was getting some play time in with tissue paper and Duncan was resting in the sun.  Froot Loop was her usual antisocial self and didn't visit this Christmas.

After the fun of opening presents Camden read a book and had a snack.

Here is a little video of the paper ripping fun he had.

Words

We have had a word explosion in the last few weeks.  Camden is saying more and more and using words in the correct context as well.

The last few days we have heard, Yes, Help, More, Snow, Mayonnaise,  and No!

These are on top of the words he already uses on a daily basis.  Words like hands, soap, Mommy, Daddy, Duncan, wash, paste, banana.  The list goes on.

When you say, "Knock knock, who's there"? Camden says, "Mary".  This comes from one of his favourite books.  The first time he said Mary, I nearly fell down laughing.

Here is a video I took on Monday night.  Camden asked us to hang "light" and Ron hooked them up over the chairs.  We heard lots of Ohh's and Amazing :)

We are really, really enjoying this rapid development but I am finding it hard to keep up and remember what is happening.  It is all moving so quickly.  Slow down Cam....just a little please!

Dear Camden....

Dear Camden,

This is the first letter I have written to you but I wanted to tell you how special you are to me.  Last night as you were falling asleep next to me, I watched you breathe.  I felt your heart beating and saw your little chest rise gently up and down.

You are hardly ever still anymore, running and playing, jumping and talking.  It was a pleasure to just watch you as you lay quiet.  Your hair curled around your ear, your cheeks rosy and plump, your little hand curled around my finger.  So soft, so small, so wonderful.

As I watched you, I started to cry.  Sometimes I still cannot believe I get to be your Mommy.  How did I ever get so lucky?  You are beautiful and amazing.  There are so many things that Daddy and I have to teach you and so many experiences just waiting for you.

It is going to be awesome and I can't wait!  We are going to have so much fun together!

I love you so much little man, thank you for coming to us.

Love Mum-Mum.

Some pictures of you sleeping.....
