Camden said...

Yesterday there was a fun fair in the small village near us.  I thought Camden would love to go and did he ever enjoy himself.  He was not scared at all and loved going in the three bouncy houses that were set up.

There were two ladies doing face painting and I asked Camden if he wanted to be a pirate.  He said no.  Later, I asked if he wanted to be a lion.  Again he said no.  We saw a girl painted like a monkey and I asked Camden if he wanted to be a monkey.

Camden: I just want to be Camden.

I just hugged him and said I wanted him to be himself too.  Love my boy!

Grammie Visits

Grammie arrived for a one week visit on August 6th.  Camden did not want Grammie to visit, did not like Grammie and did not want anything to do with Grammie.

Then, after an hour in her company and being allowed to rifle through her suitcase he changed his mind and said, "Grammie loves me!"

It was so nice to see my Mum and spend some time with her.  We found the time to sew and craft together.  I made her an e-book cover and she and I made Camden some pajamas.  We also painted a smarties tin and turned it into a nifty piggy bank.

In the evening we watched a couple of movies and I got her hooked on The Walking Dead.  Great show and it was fun to watch her expressions as the episodes played out.

Here are some pictures of our time together.

 Showing Grammie some love

Riding his new bike.  He was so excited to get this and would wake every morning asking to go for a ride.  All of us took turns pushing him around the house and outside.  I don't think he will ever tire of it.

Washing Grammie's feet...no splashing!

Grammie bought Camden a very special gift and we waited a day or two before giving it to him.  His very first robot!

We had some rain one day and Cam had energy to burn.  I took him outside to splash in some puddles but we ended up covered head to toe in mud.  It was so much fun!

A while back I had asked Mum to crochet a hat for Camden.
This is the result.

Camden pointed out this huge "buzzy bee" on my sunflower.
Really, one of the largest bees I have ever seen.

Another day and more energy to burn.  Taking Grammie to the park was fun.  Seeing her go down the slide was hilarious!

The three of us!

Self portrait.  I love this one.

Handsome!

Cheese!

Helping Grammie up the hill

I whipped up some home made paint which resulted in another mess,
but lots of fun.

Our last day together

Can't be serious all the time :)

Bye Grammie.  See you again soon!

Playground fun

There was excess energy to burn this weekend so Camden and I headed to the park at the elementary school for some fun.

He really enjoyed climbing up the steps and going down the slide.  I just wish there were some other kids for him to play with :(

The only way he would take a picture with me....
I caught him walking up the stairs behind me.

Camden said...

Camden often repeats himself over and over and over as if he has not been heard the first time.  I will tell him we heard him the first time (or the first five times).  I shouldn't be surprised by the following exchange we had, but I was!

Me: Cam, would you like a drink?
    No response
Me:  Cam, drink?
    No response again.
Me: Camden....do you want a drink of this?
Camden: I heard you the first time.

At the playground on the weekend there was an older boy running around and Camden desperately wanted to play with him.

Camden: Hey big fella, what you doing?

Ron went out with a friend to celebrate his birthday and was not home to see Camden off to bed.  The next morning when Ron woke up, Camden said, "Daddy I missed you soooo much!"

Daddy: See you later alligator
Camden: After while croc-dile

Ron found a snail on the grape leaves he was trimming in the backyard. He gave the leaf to Camden.

Camden: What his name Mum-Mum?
Me: Sammy the snail?
Camden: I love Sammy
