Christmas 2014 - Part 1

Our gingerbread house really jump started the Christmas season for us.

Camden also decorated cookies with Mrs. Claus, watched the Hillsborough Santa Parade, met Santa, performed in a Christmas concert at school and became a tree :)

Gingerbread House Fun

This was the first year we built and decorated a gingerbread house together.  Camden was very excited about all the candies and it was hard to get him to put them on the house and not in his mouth!

Halloween 2014

My favourite day of the year is Halloween!  This may be the last year Camden agrees to a home-made costume so I went crazy.  We both dressed up!

Cam wanted to be a Knight and told me I could be a dragon.  I went to Value Village and picked up the perfect grey fabric and yarn to make his tabard and chain metal.  I picked up some really cool beading from the fabric store that I glued on and then sewed down so it wouldn't fall off.  I decided to use Ron's family crest as the emblem on the tabard.

We made some Halloween cupcakes for his party at school.  Yummy!

We had excellent weather on Halloween night so neither of us needed to wear a coat.  Camden declared he was "not too struck" on pictures, so I had a difficult time getting some nice ones.

Autumn Pictures

Our neighbour has a beautiful maple tree in his yard and I have taken annual photos of Camden by it.  This was a challenging year as Camden was not in the mood for pictures or for staying still.

I did get a few nice shots.....

.....and then, I took this one :)

A surprise visit

I had the surprise of my life when my best friend Lisa showed up at my office on Friday, Oct 3.  I had no idea she and Pam had been working on this surprise for more than a month.  What a reaction!

After five years, this hug was long overdue

Once I was able to get my crying under control, we headed out for lunch at a local seafood restaurant called Catch 22.  I have never been there before but it was amazing.  I loved everything and the service was excellent.

After lunch we headed for home.  Lisa and Pam booked a room at a local B&B (Innisfree) and stopped there to check in and freshen up.  Then it was on to my house to meet Camden.

The next day we went to the Dieppe Farmers Market and indulged in some waffles.  Cam ate his plain.  I had nutella, mixed fruit and whipped cream on mine.  Lisa had maple syrup and whipped cream on hers.  Pam decided on nutella and fruit as well.

From the Market we caught up with Cathy and took the drive to the Hopewell Rocks, which is about 5 minutes from my house.  The rain stopped in time for us to enjoy a walk on the ocean floor (and a climb around the playground).

Camden lead us all the way down the trail and waved to
everyone who crossed our path.

Hold this for me Mum-Mum!

It seemed we walked forever, but the beach stretched on and the weather was great.  Such a nice day.  After the Rocks we drove to Alma for dinner.

There are a few restaurants to choose from, but we stopped in to the Alma Boathouse Restaurant and all of us are glad we did.  The food was incredible and well priced.  Yummy!

Cam wanted to wear my glasses.  My cutie pie!

Sadly, after this meal our visit was over.  Lisa and Pam dropped us off at home and went back to the B&B for sleep before their very early flight home.

What a wonderful visit!

On Sunday, because our pass to the Hopewell Rocks was good for two days, Camden and I went back to see the tide when it was in.  We got there about 40 minutes after high tide and it was already going down.

We thought we would stay dry standing on the steps here because the waves were not very high.  We were wrong, just after this picture was taken a large wave came up and got Cam in the face and my jeans were soaked.  He laughed and thought it was funny.  Silly boy!

Two videos....one from above and one on the steps down below.
