Moncton Touch a Truck

On Saturday I took Camden to the Moncton Touch a Truck event held at the Coliseum.  What an amazing and fun experience.  He had a blast sitting behind the wheel of all the big working trucks!

It was a gorgeous day, more like Summer than Autumn.  There were people everywhere and lots of kids being told to be patient and wait their turn.  I really hope the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation was able to raise the funds they were hoping for.

On to the pictures....

Cement mixer - he was so excited to see this one.  We have been reading about them in this book

Funny story behind this picture.  The man who owned this digger gave Cam the hard hat to wear.  He thought it was his for keeps.  There were candies in the bucket of the digger and I told Cam he could have one.  He took the candy and the hard hat to the owner of the digger and gave him the candy, while  holding onto the hat!  It was so funny.  The owner ended up giving Camden a new ball cap (next picture) to make up for it.

Any ideas who this might be?  A spark plug maybe?

All I heard when he climbed up here was "Ooooohhh"

Baa Baa Black Sheep

Saying a nursery rhyme for Grammie in August...late post.

Camden said....

Camden: I love you
Me: Awww, I love you too
Camden: No, I love you! (little loudly)
Me: Thank you, I love you
Camden: I LOVE YOU (screaming)
Me: Ok, you love me, I love you too
Camden: I LOVE YOU! (really screaming now, gritting his teeth)

Then he slaps me. (What is that about?)

Camden wanted popcorn for a treat and so I made it, with his cheesy sprinkles.  When it was made, he changed his mind and didn't want any. So I sat down with the bowl to have some.

Camden: Don't eat all my popcorn
Me: I won't, we are sharing
Camden: You ate my cotton candy
Me: No I didn't, we shared

Ron: Did you eat it all?
Me: Mostly

In his bath last night after he pulled the plug:

Bye bye water, see you afternoon.  We had fun today.
Bye bye water. (As he is waving to the drain)

Camden is sitting on the couch having snack time.  He pets Duncan and Duncan raises his paw to slap Cam.

"Duncan, be a good boy to me prease."  (prease = please)

Camden's Big Boy Room - Part 1

Camden has been co-sleeping since he was born and we both think it is time for him to have a big boy room of his own.  I have been working on a robot theme room for over a month now and Cam has loved what he has seen so far.

Unfortunately, the ceiling came down in that room yesterday and I have no idea how long it will take to repair.  Chances are these plaster walls are going to come down and new insulation and drywall put up. So this may be as far as these robots get :(

I wanted to do a big reveal post on the completed room, but this will have to do I guess.

Light switch robot, Off and On will be painted on switch plate

Gears - First coat of paint, second coat and outlining

Curtains I made for the window

Green Robot

Blue/Green Robot

Blue robot

Robot Wall

Rocket - First coat of paint and with stripes added

Ceiling :(

I guess I will look at this as a trial run.  Now I know how well the paint adheres to the walls and how to correct the mistakes I made the first time around.  Once the room is fixed up, Camden will have an AWESOME big boy room!

Scissors

Camden has been trying to use scissors for a long time now and I found a small pair that sort of fit his hand.  He had a lot of fun cutting paper one afternoon.

Albert County Exhibition

On Sunday we went to the 100th Annual Albert County Exhibition.  It was a beautiful day and we had a great time.  Camden spent way too much time on the little four-wheeler and tractor though.

Here are some pictures from our day.

Camden liked petting the goats and I managed to get
a picture of Daddy smiling!

Theses are the first Oxen I have ever seen.  They were huge!  Also, very well trained as was demonstrated by their owners.

It is amazing to see these giant horses.
I still cannot believe horses can be this big!

Getting ready for the six in hand competition, two horses hooked up

Running around the ring...

and waiting for judging.

Camden and I went on a ride together.
As you can see from this picture, he didn't enjoy it!

He really, really liked this tractor and
I had to bribe him with cotton candy to get down!

Milking a cow was another highlight of the day

Here is a video Ron took of our descent down the huge slide.  It was really high, I didn't realize until we had climbed to the top!

Camden said...

Yesterday there was a fun fair in the small village near us.  I thought Camden would love to go and did he ever enjoy himself.  He was not scared at all and loved going in the three bouncy houses that were set up.

There were two ladies doing face painting and I asked Camden if he wanted to be a pirate.  He said no.  Later, I asked if he wanted to be a lion.  Again he said no.  We saw a girl painted like a monkey and I asked Camden if he wanted to be a monkey.

Camden: I just want to be Camden.

I just hugged him and said I wanted him to be himself too.  Love my boy!
