Popper
Thank you Auntie Cathy for the Popper. Camden loves it, even though he gets a little frustrated when he gets stuck on something.

First Ice Cream Cone
Camden enjoyed his first ice cream cone on the weekend. I surrounded him with towels and hoped the mess wouldn't go everywhere.
He dove right in, proving he is our child (we love ice cream).

Checking it out

My hands are sticky....ick!
Here is a little video I also took.

My first year as a Mom
I have wanted to reflect on my first year of Motherhood and have tried to write this post several times. I would like to share some good memories and some things I would just like to forget, but I have had difficulty getting the words out.
In the early days, I was filled with so much self doubt. Having this little person beside me, absorbing everything he saw, scared me to death. I want Camden to have a good childhood, to be a happy and loving child, to learn and experience life. I didn’t (and don’t) want to mess that up for him.
After a year, I am happy to report I have mellowed a bit. I am using my gut instinct more and have stopped reading the books. I have learned I will make mistakes (bumping his head into the door frame) and will sometimes be a second too late getting to him (eating cat vomit), but I love him.
I love him very much and I will always do my absolute best for him.
Camden was meant for me and I am so proud to be his Mum-Mum. Thank you baby boy for the most wonderful year of my life.
Some memories (good and bad):
- Camden’s ruffled bed-head when he wakes from a nap
- Changing him on the bed the first time, a river of poo, mess everywhere, calling for back-up, learning to give him 10 more minutes to finish.
- Holding him in my arms as the exact time of his birth approached and quietly singing Happy Birthday to him as he fell asleep.
- Milky breath and all those milk drunk faces he made
- Cam falling off the bed the first…and second times (bad Mommy)
- His soft hair tickling my nose when I give him kisses
- The wonderful moment shared with my Mum the day Camden came home from the hospital. Hugging and crying, Camden passes a huge amount of gas and totally ruins the moment.
- After weeks of trying to get him to smile, finally figuring out that blowing on his belly did the trick
- Watching Ron and Camden play together and witnessing the love. Amazing!
- Hearing Mum-Mum for the first time and knowing it meant me
- Tiny fingers holding my hand, tiny arms going around my neck, sloppy kisses gracing my cheek and toasty warm snuggles in the wee hours of the morning.

He's a musician
Camden is going to be a rock star......or have a wonderful green thumb and sing to all his house plants :)
Then and Now - One year later
Today, as I was editing some photos of Camden from the weekend I realized I had the exact photo from the same date as last year.
Camden sitting in his swing in the shed (and almost the exact same expression too). How weird is that?

Mother's Day
Ron and Camden had a nice day planned for me this Mother's Day. It started when Ron whispered to Camden and passed him something. It was a card for "Mum-Mum" and Camden gave it to me with the biggest smile on his face.
The card has a magnetic photo frame that I can put on my cubicle at work. I can't wait to put a picture in it and hang it proudly.
Ron made me a huge breakfast which was really yummy. Camden even enjoyed some of it too.
We packed everything up and headed for the zoo. Mom's got in free, which was a nice surprise. The pictures that follow document our day. I hope you enjoy the pictures as much as I enjoyed the day with my family.
Camden liked the turkeys because they were awake and making noise
Happy Mother's Day everyone!

Everyone else seemed to be sleeping.....
Looks like this Lemur was celebrating Mother's Day as well :)
Taking a break and playing with Daddy and some acorns
With Mommy.....
We asked for a wave but he gave us his "making a stinky" face instead!
Look at those little pearly whites!
Getting so big, standing all by himself!
This is the same as above, but I played with it a little. I like the effect.
Happy Mother's Day everyone!

Walking Around
Two little feet that will take Camden many places. These small steps are just the beginning for him and it is so exciting to watch.
