Vacation!

My Mum came to visit!  Yay!  She was here from July 12 to the 19th and we had a wonderful time.  It was so nice to see her interact with Camden and see him respond to her.  I think they enjoyed their time together.  Here are some pictures.

 Grammie and Camden reading together

Looking out the window and watching the rain.

 Cam in his "car"

Eating ice cream all by himself, was a sticky mess.  Lots of fun though!

Sharing ice cream with Grammie

and some kisses too....

My blue eyed boy (love)

With Mum-Mum on my birthday!

Trying on a swimming tube for his first swim in a big pool.

At the pool, he did really well for his first time.

Looking around at the other kids, enjoying himself.

Getting ready to go to Alma for the day, Camden wanted to drive :)

Concentrating really hard as he tries to get the key in the ignition.

The beautiful view from Fundy National Park (clink red links to learn more)

and again

It was very sunny and windy, not the best self portrait we have taken.

Camden had a week of firsts, this time it was the beach in Alma.

The tide was in when we arrived and the boats were up high in the water

but after lunch they lay on the ground.

Took some pictures of Camden's foot prints in the sand

and his muddy feet after :)

After our trip to Alma, we headed up the road a bit to Cape Enrage.  It has spectacular views as well.

We didn't spend all our time site seeing.  Mum and I also got pedicures.  Here are our sparkly toes!

I took this photo on the last day of Mum's visit.

After Mum left, Camden, Ron and I just hung out around the house.

Camden decided he wanted to mow the lawn :)  Sitting and climbing on the mowers is his new favourite thing to do.  Sigh....boys!

He ate his first Oreo cookie....yummy!

Is there something on my nose?

It was a fantastic time off and I really enjoyed myself and for the first time in a long time, felt relaxed.

Thank you Mum for coming to spend the week with us!  It was wonderful to see you!

Illness Strikes

We have been really fortunate that Camden is a healthy little guy.  Other than the reflux issue that was corrected early on, he has not been sick once.

All that changed early last Friday morning when he woke up with a very poopy diaper at 3:45 am.  He NEVER has poopy diapers through the night and that alone should have clued me in that something was wrong.

He felt hot, really hot.  I gave him some advil and we settled back in to sleep.  There was another icky diaper before I left for work, but at this point I assumed his molars might be coming in and his gums were bothering him.

When I got home from work on Friday he was still hot, his temp was 39.2 C and he was not himself at all.  For the rest of the weekend his temperature remained high, even after giving him advil and a warm bath.  He sat in my lap or was rocked in my arms for the majority of the weekend.  We made sure he drank plenty of juice, water and milk and he nursed constantly.  He didn't have any appetite at all and that worried me, because I am always worried he is hungry.

When his temperature dropped a little he would slide off my lap and find his teddy to cuddle with.  I knew we would have about 30 minutes of this "feeling better" before he was in my lap cuddling and nursing again.  That's when I would run to the bathroom for a pee break :)

His fever finally broke late Sunday night and Ron took him to the Doctor on Monday to be sure everything was ok.  A little rash had formed on his back but the Doctor said it was from the fever and not to worry.

On Tuesday the rash was much worse and covered his back, neck, cheeks, belly and groin.  I started to look online and I am pretty sure he had Roseola, even though the Doctor didn't come right out and say so.

Today, the rash is almost gone and he seems to be bouncing back.  Hopefully he will be his happy self again by tomorrow when his Grammie arrives for her visit.

Here are some pics of the rash:

It looks like it would be very itchy but he didn't seem bothered by it at all, thank goodness.

I am so thankful for a healthy child!  This fever and rash caught us off guard, hopefully Cam won't be sick again for a while.

Going for a drive

We gave Camden an empty box and this is what he did with it.

Piggy Hat

Ron bought Camden a piggy hat when he was a teeny baby and it didn't really fit and he didn't especially like it.

Now though, you can't get him to take it off his head!  Getting pictures of Camden is more difficult lately as he doesn't stay still, so some of these are a little blurry.

Wherever Camden is, you will find his furry friend Duncan too.

Fun in the pool

Our neighbour gave us two swimming pools for Camden.  Ron cleaned one up last night and since it was a warm evening we decided to see what Cam thought of it.

Filled with warm water and bubbles, he thought it was as fun as bath time!

At this point he was chilly and not used to having his clothes stuck to him.  He had enough and let us know loud and clear that it was time to go inside.

Father's Day Weekend

I think Camden and Ron really enjoyed Father's Day weekend.  They raked some leaves, watered our flowers and took a joy ride on the lawnmower.

and a little video....
