Zoo Day

The Moncton Zoo began opening on Sundays in March.  Camden and I went on a day that was supposed to be warm and sunny.  It turned snowy and blowy but we enjoyed ourselves anyway.  The cool air perked up a lot of the animals and they were quite active.

Swamp Thang – Creatures of the Swamp

On Sunday, Camden and I drove to Moncton to see the Swamp Thang exhibit put on by Little Ray's Reptile Zoo.  They have been in town before with other exhibits but for one reason or another we could not attend.

Camden was so excited by all the animals and he seemed to want to talk to everyone who was there.  I am not sure who enjoyed it more - him for the animals and cotton candy or me, watching him enjoy himself.

If you do not like snakes and alligators, maybe you shouldn't look any further.  Picture heavy post ahead.

Camden knew what these were right away - 

"LEMURS" he yelled as he ran over

The Green Anaconda was next in line to see

Then we have the Reticulated Python - we spent a lot of time here, as this python was alert and seemed to be drawn to Cam's shirt.  When Cam moved from one place to another, the python's head followed.

The Green Iguana was large and Camden noted he had a lot of "prickles" on his back.  The tortoises followed Camden around and around as well.  Must be the shirt colour?

Hmmm....any idea what kind of Lizard this is?  I forget.

A swamp rat

This is a 20 year old tortoise and Camden was so excited to see her walking around on the floor.  He jumped out of his stroller and ran right over to touch her.  (Sorry little man, you cannot ride on her back)

One of the last exhibits were these two Boa Constrictors

This exhibit was definitely a fun and inexpensive afternoon out.  We will go back to see Little Ray's when they are in town again.  After the show, Cam fell asleep on the way home with his new pet snake (stuffed, not real) in his hands.  Wish I had gotten a picture of that!

Winter Day (+ 6 Degrees)

Saturday was a beautiful sunny and warm day for Winter.  We had to get out and enjoy the fresh air and try to beat our colds.

In the backyard Ron has plowed some areas where we can slide and it makes for a fast ride down a little hill.

We spent a few hours outside and came in soaking wet.  Cam lay down on the couch to watch a movie and was soon fast asleep.  Duncan joined him five minutes later and held his hand (awwww).  

Camden has never fell asleep on the couch so I know he was tired!
